My brother was faithful, and valiant, and true.
He had so much wisdom to share.
But I never imagined he’d leave us so soon,
That he wouldn’t always be there.
I know in my heart that I must let him go.
It’s selfish to want him to stay;
For our Heavenly Father has called him back home
Safe into His arms on Easter Day.
David, oh David,
Through endless tears and with heavy sigh,
David, beloved David,
It’s hard to say goodbye.
