“That’s Why He Was Sent”

I know that sometimes I have sinned, and disappoint the Lord;
And then I feel unworthy of His love.
But then the Spirit whispers – that’s the reason that He came,
To help us back to Heaven up above.
Our Savior came to suffer for the sins of all mankind,
To die for me, and do the Father’s will.
He only asks that I repent and come and follow Him.
He beckons me, His arms are outstretched still.
Jesus atoned for all mankind
So we could repent.
He paid the price for all our sins.
That’s why He was sent.
But then someone offends me, and it hurts me deep inside.
I feel the pain they caused each day I live.
But I must listen when the Spirit whispers to my heart,
To be forgiven, then I must forgive.
Our Savior came to suffer for their sins, as well as mine.
He bled ten-thousand drops for me and you.
If I do not forgive, I’m saying He did not enough.
If I love Him, then I must love them, too.
Jesus atoned for all mankind
So we could repent.
He paid the price for all our sins.
That’s why He was sent.
